Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah felicitated jawans of the CRPF, Chhattisgarh Police, DRG, and Cobra units in New Delhi for their heroic role in executing Operation Black Forest—India’s largest anti-Naxal operation to date—on Karreguttalu hill in Chhattisgarh.

The operation, conducted under extreme conditions including high altitude, scorching heat, and the threat of IEDs, led to the destruction of a major Naxalite base camp, along with their material dump and supply chain. Shri Shah praised the forces for their unmatched bravery, calling the mission a “golden chapter” in India’s counter-Naxal history.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai and Deputy CM Vijay Sharma were also present at the ceremony. The Home Minister reiterated the Modi government’s commitment to eradicating Naxalism by March 31, 2026, stating, “We will not rest until every Naxalite either surrenders, is caught, or eliminated.”

Shah emphasized that the operation has brought hope to over 6.5 crore people living in Naxal-affected regions from Pashupatinath to Tirupati, where schools, hospitals, and government schemes had long been obstructed by insurgent activity.

The government also reaffirmed its support for injured security personnel and pledged continued efforts to improve their welfare. The success of Operation Black Forest marks a turning point in India’s internal security strategy and reinforces the nation’s resolve to restore peace in its most vulnerable regions.
