A Bengaluru–Guwahati Air India Express flight made an emergency landing at Bhubaneswar Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) on Thursday after a passenger onboard experienced a sudden medical emergency.
According to Airport Director Prasanna Pradhan, the cabin crew alerted air traffic control after co-passengers noticed the individual feeling unwell.
Emergency protocols were swiftly activated, and the aircraft landed safely in Bhubaneswar. Medical teams were on standby and provided immediate care to the passenger.
Following stabilisation, the flight resumed its journey to Guwahati. Airport authorities confirmed that all medical emergency procedures were executed efficiently, without disrupting regular operations.
