The Ministry of Civil Aviation has activated an Operational Control Room to coordinate rescue and investigation efforts following the crash of Air India Flight AI171.


In light of the AI171 crash, an Operational Control Room has been activated at the Ministry of Civil Aviation to coordinate all details.

The flight, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, was en route from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick when it issued a mayday call shortly after takeoff and crashed.

Emergency teams have been dispatched to the crash site, with authorities prioritising rescue operations for passengers and crew. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has launched an investigation into the incident, with initial reports suggesting possible mechanical failure.

The Ministry has provided emergency contact numbers for inquiries (011-24610843 | 9650391859), and Air India has activated a passenger support hotline (1800 5691 444) for families seeking updates.
