The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) secured resounding victories at two of Bhubaneswar’s premier higher education institutions, BJB Autonomous College and Rajdhani College, as student union election results were announced across Odisha following an eight-year hiatus.
At BJB Autonomous College, Aryan Mohapatra emerged victorious in the presidential race. Mohapatra’s win drew widespread attention after he persevered through campaign disruptions, continuing his outreach despite sustaining injuries during an earlier attack in the Pipili area.
Meanwhile, at Rajdhani College, Avinash Padhi secured the presidency, compounding an already strong showing where ABVP secured multiple positions uncontested ahead of polling day.
Strict security measures overseen by the police administration ensured orderly voting and counting processes across the twin cities. Celebrations erupted on campuses as supporters welcomed the new student leadership. Newly elected representatives are scheduled to take their oaths of office, with student bodies expressing hope that the fresh leadership will effectively address academic infrastructure, hostel welfare, and institutional grievances.
The victories mark a significant milestone for ABVP within the capital city’s evolving student political landscape.
