In a significant step toward strengthening India’s aerospace and defence capabilities, Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh has approved the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) Programme Execution Model.

The initiative will be carried out through an industry partnership, offering equal opportunities to private and public sector entities to participate in the development of this cutting-edge fighter aircraft.

The Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA), entrusted with the execution, is set to issue an Expression of Interest (EoI) for the AMCA’s development phase, inviting Indian companies to bid independently, as joint ventures, or as consortia. The move aligns with the Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision, fostering indigenous expertise to design and develop state-of-the-art defence technology.

The AMCA project aims to revolutionise India’s aerospace sector, enhancing self-reliance in combat aircraft manufacturing while strengthening national security. This execution model provides an open platform for competitive participation, ensuring fair opportunities for all Indian defence manufacturers.

With this development, India continues to march forward in establishing a robust domestic aerospace industrial ecosystem, cementing its position as a global leader in defence innovation.
