President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to embark on a two-day official visit to her home state of Odisha starting October 27.
During the visit, the President will participate in a major healthcare initiative targeting eye health in the Mayurbhanj district.
The announcement was confirmed by Mayurbhanj Member of Parliament Naba Charan Majhi.
Presidential Itinerary in Rairangpur
According to MP Majhi, President Murmu will land in Odisha on October 27 and attend a mega eye screening camp held in Rairangpur, Mayurbhanj. After attending the key public health initiative and interacting with local welfare organisers, she will return to New Delhi on October 28.
The visit holds special significance as Rairangpur is President Murmu’s hometown, marking a high-profile return centred on community health and social service.
100 Specialist Doctors to Offer Free Medical Care
The eye screening camp itself is planned as an extensive five-day health drive running from October 26 to October 30.
To ensure high-quality care for local residents, around 100 veteran ophthalmologists travelling from New Delhi will participate in the initiative. These specialist doctors will provide free consultations, diagnoses, and eye care treatments to thousands of patients across the district throughout the duration of the camp.
Local authorities and district administration officials in Mayurbhanj have commenced preparatory security and logistical measures to ensure the smooth execution of the President’s visit and the health camp.
