A viral video showing a young couple being harassed by a group of men in Bihar’s Jamui district has sparked widespread outrage and led to a police investigation.
The video shows a group of men surrounding the couple. One attacker grabs the man by his collar and pulls him away, while a masked man chases, forcefully grabs, and tries to drag away the screaming woman as she resists.
Her friend manages to break free and help her. They flee toward their parked two-wheeler, but the attackers chase after them.
A heated confrontation follows as both get onto the vehicle. Even as they attempt to ride away, members of the group grab the woman’s arm while she pleads for help before the video cuts off.
Though multiple parked vehicles are visible in the background, the exact reason for the confrontation and the sequence of events remain unconfirmed.
Taking cognisance of the incident after social media users tagged local authorities online, the Jamui Superintendent of Police stated that law enforcement had established contact with the woman.
