Citizens in Odisha no longer need to visit police stations for routine administrative services, following the integration of 14 key police-citizen services into the state’s ‘Ama Sathi’ Unified WhatsApp Bot.
Director General of Police (DGP) Vinaytosh Mishra officially launched the expanded digital services at the DGP Camp Office in Bhubaneswar. The service build-out aims to make police administration fast, transparent, and hassle-free for the general public.
A Multi-Agency Digital Initiative
The ‘Ama Sathi’ platform was originally unveiled by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Good Governance Day (December 25, 2025) as a 24×7 digital assistant for public administration.
The unified bot is a collaborative development between:
-
Centre for Modernising Government Initiative (CMGI)
-
State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB)
-
Odisha Police
-
Meta India (WhatsApp)
Integrated under the Odisha Right to Public Services Act (ORTPSA), the platform enables citizens to submit applications, upload required documentation, track status in real-time, and download approved digital certificates directly within WhatsApp.
