The Kataka Development Authority (KDA) today celebrated its 44th Foundation Day at a grand function held at Windsor Place, Sector-6, Kataka.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, KDA Vice-Chairperson, Kirandeep Kaur Sahota, IAS, said that the 44-year journey of KDA is not merely a measure of time, but also reflects the transformation and development of Kataka city over the decades.

“Over the past four decades, Kataka has witnessed significant growth and transformation. As the city continues to grow, the aspirations and expectations of its people are also increasing. Keeping these aspirations in mind, KDA is undertaking several initiatives aimed at ensuring planned, sustainable and people-centric development of the city,” she said.
She further informed that KDA will soon undertake several important projects, including the Mahanadi Riverfront Development, Atal Park, Baimundi Park and a Convention Centre, among other developmental initiatives.

Reaffirming KDA’s commitment towards the sustainable growth of the Silver City, Sahota said that development is not limited to the construction of roads, buildings and other physical infrastructure. “True development lies in making the lives of citizens easier, safer and more comfortable,” she observed.

The Vice-Chairperson also highlighted various ongoing and upcoming projects of the Authority and appreciated the officers and staff of KDA for their dedication, commitment and contribution towards the development of Kataka.

Speaking on the occasion, KDA Secretary Janaka Kumar Nayak said that the Foundation Day is not only an occasion to commemorate the establishment of the Authority but also an opportunity to recognise the collective efforts of its officers and employees.

“The growth and progress of Kataka have been made possible through the concerted efforts of the entire KDA team. Teamwork and collective responsibility are essential for achieving the vision of a better and more liveable city,” he said.

During the programme, eight KDA officers and staff members were felicitated in recognition of their commendable work and contribution to the functioning and development initiatives of the Authority.

Er. Atun Kumar Samant, Engineering Member, KDA, proposed the vote of thanks.

Among others, Pranab Kumar Tripathy, Finance Member, KDA; Uma Kumari Majhi, Executive Engineer; Simanta Senanayak, Deputy Finance Member; Bishnu Prasad Sahoo, ATP, KDA; and Sampad Kumar Swain, Land Officer, were present on the occasion along with other officers and staff members of the Authority.
