A data entry operator at SCB Medical College and Hospital has been arrested by Mangalabag police in connection with alleged financial irregularities amounting to Rs 1.40 crore.
The arrest followed a complaint lodged by the SCB Superintendent after an audit report flagged discrepancies in salary‑related data of employees. Investigators revealed that the accused allegedly tampered with records while managing salary transactions, leading to major irregularities.
Police confirmed that the accused was taken into custody and further investigation is underway to trace the financial trail and identify possible links. Officials said more details on the alleged manipulation will emerge as the probe progresses.
