The third National Lok Adalat of 2026 will be held on September 12 across all judicial and revenue courts in Khordha district, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Bhubaneswar, has announced.
The Lok Adalat will take up a wide range of pending cases, including compoundable criminal matters, cheque bounce disputes, bank loan recovery, traffic challans, revenue cases, labour disputes, matrimonial issues (except divorce), land acquisition, motor accident claims, and property disputes. Cases can be resolved through mutual settlement without lengthy litigation.
Importantly, even pre‑litigation disputes such as loan defaults, unpaid utility bills (telephone, electricity, water) can be settled at the Lok Adalat office. No court fees are charged, and any fees already paid in pending cases will be refunded if the matter is resolved. The awards of Lok Adalat are final, binding, and enforceable in law.
Authorities have urged litigants to take advantage of this opportunity for speedy, cost‑effective, and amicable resolution of disputes. For detailed guidance, parties may contact the District Legal Services Authority, Bhubaneswar, or the nearest court‑based legal services committee.
