‘Jantar Mantar Season 2’ soon: CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke announces fresh nationwide mobilisation

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) is preparing for another phase of mobilisation, with founder Abhijeet Dipke saying that “Jantar Mantar Season 2” will begin soon.

Dipke made the remarks on Wednesday while addressing the party’s volunteers. The statement comes weeks after student-led protests at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar brought issues such as examination paper leaks, student deaths and education reforms into the spotlight.

CJP said its next phase will focus on taking its campaign beyond Delhi and engaging with people across the country.

Abhijeet Dipke says ‘Jantar Mantar Season 2’ is coming

Dipke said the group had received questions on social media about when the next phase of its Jantar Mantar movement would begin.

“Season 2 of Jantar-Mantar is going to start very soon,” he said.

CJP chief spokesperson Saurav Das said the phrase was not limited to another protest at Jantar Mantar. According to Das, the group’s next phase would involve mobilisation across different parts of the country.

“This itself is Season 2,” Das told ANI, adding that CJP plans to begin a nationwide “listening tour” to hear public concerns.

The group said education would be among its key priorities.

CJP announces ‘School Thik Karo’ campaign

The CJP also announced a ‘School Thik Karo’ campaign, scheduled to begin on Independence Day, August 15.

Dipke said the campaign would focus on improving basic facilities in government schools, particularly in rural areas.

“Kids in villages shouldn’t be pleading for basic facilities at school after 80 years of Independence,” he said in a post on X.

The campaign is expected to begin from Dipke’s village in Hingoli, Maharashtra. The CJP founder has called on sarpanches, parents and local residents to participate in efforts to improve school infrastructure.

Das also backed the campaign, saying that the condition of government schools needed greater attention.

Dipke alleges pressure over Delhi meeting venue

Dipke also alleged that CJP faced difficulties while trying to organise a volunteers’ meeting in Delhi.

According to him, several venue owners refused to rent halls to the group, citing “pressure from above”. He alleged that the BJP was behind the pressure.

Dipke said the group eventually secured a venue and had a receipt confirming the booking. However, he alleged that the venue owners later received threats.

The allegations could not be independently verified.

Dipke said the alleged pressure would not stop the group from continuing its activities.

CJP expands focus beyond Jantar Mantar

The CJP rose to national attention following the student protests at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. The group has since said it intends to function as a pressure group and raise issues concerning governance and public institutions.

Its latest plans suggest a broader focus, with education, government-school infrastructure and public engagement emerging as key priorities.

The proposed nationwide listening tour is expected to give the group an opportunity to interact with residents and identify local concerns.

With the ‘School Thik Karo’ campaign set to begin on August 15, the CJP is now seeking to turn its protest-driven visibility into a wider grassroots mobilisation.
