A gruesome murder has shocked Badhuani village under Bisoi police station limits in Mayurbhanj district, where police recovered a blood‑soaked body from an under‑construction residential house.
The deceased has been identified as Shiris Patel, a resident of the same village. Acting on information that a young man was found lying in a pool of blood, Bisoi police rushed to the spot. Rairangpur SP Suresh Chandra Patra and SDPO Birendra Senapati supervised the investigation, while a scientific team from Baripada examined the site.
Following the examination, the SDPO confirmed that it was a case of murder. Preliminary findings suggest the youth died due to severe head injuries that caused heavy bleeding. Police have detained one person for questioning and are probing the motive behind the killing and possible involvement of others.
The incident has created panic and tension in the local area, with residents demanding swift justice.
