Tennis fans are set for a blockbuster spectacle at Flushing Meadows as Novak Djokovic and Aryna Sabalenka join forces for the US Open 2026 mixed doubles championship.
The pairing of the 24‑time Grand Slam champion and the current women’s world No.1 instantly makes them favourites in the revamped format, which returns after its successful debut last year. The event will be staged on August 25–26, just before the singles main draw, with the winning duo set to receive US$1 million in prize money.
The United States Tennis Association (USTA) has attracted a glittering line‑up, with other notable pairings including Iga Swiatek–Casper Ruud, Elena Rybakina–Taylor Fritz, Naomi Osaka–Kei Nishikori, Jessica Pegula–Jack Draper, and Alex Eala–Felix Auger‑Aliassime.
Organisers say the revamped mixed doubles format is designed to bring more star power and fan engagement to the opening week of the Grand Slam. With Djokovic and Sabalenka leading the charge, the 2026 edition promises to be one of the most competitive and entertaining mixed doubles events in US Open history.
