The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has announced that public entry through the Singhadwara (Lion’s Gate) of Shree Gundicha Temple will remain closed from 6 PM today to allow evening rituals and preparations for the Bahuda Yatra 2026.
According to the official notification, the closure is required to facilitate the Shodha (purification) of the temple and other key ceremonies preceding the return journey of the deities. During this period, important rituals will be conducted inside the temple premises, and devotees have been requested to cooperate with the administration for the smooth conduct of proceedings.
The SJTA expressed gratitude to all Sevayats for their coordination and support during the preparations. Devotees visiting Puri have been advised to plan their darshan accordingly as the temple gears up for the grand return of the chariots.
