Puri: As many as two persons were allegedly attacked by the miscreants during an extortion bid in Narendrakona area of Puri district.
The victims have been identified as Kullu Das and Jaggu Reddy from Ganjam district.
According to reports, the incident took place while the duo was returning to their home after visiting Shri Jagannath Temple when some miscreants intercepted their vehicle and asked for money. Later they assaulted the duo as they refused their demands.
Following this, the victims lodged a complaint with the local police station in this regard.
On the basis of the complaint, police launched a probe into the matter.
