Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi chaired a special review meeting on Rath Yatra preparations in Puri on Monday.
He urged officials, staff and sevaks to combine their wisdom, knowledge, skills and experience with devotional surrender and ensure coordination for a flawless Rath Yatra 2026.CM Stresses Devotional Coordination for Rath Yatra 2026.
The Chief Minister stated that Lord Jagannath lives in everyone’s heart and the Rath Yatra marks the holiest day for Puri, entire Odisha and Jagannath devotees worldwide with global attention on the event. A safe Rath Yatra is everyone’s moral responsibility.
He hoped that officials will carry out their duties with dedication as per Mahaprabhu’s command.
The administration has deployed large police contingents for security and crowd control while making arrangements for health services, sanitation, drinking water, transport and traffic regulation based on past experiences. He stressed proper monitoring of all works and praised sevaks for timely completion of rituals.
He recommended using media, loudspeakers and social platforms to spread awareness and provide real-time updates on rituals, services and traffic via FM radio, social media, websites and TV to prevent problems. He called for strict action against rumour spreaders.
He said Mahaprabhu is the lord of emotions and respecting this bond while performing duties sincerely will make Rath Yatra 2026 successful. All will gain from devotees having a joyful spiritual experience.
He launched the ‘Ruparekha – Rath Yatra 2026’ booklet by the Puri district administration.
Deputy Chief Ministers Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Pravati Parida and other senior ministers attended the meeting. The Chief Secretary outlined overall preparations, and the Police Director General briefed on security measures.
