Odisha Vigilance arrested Dhanurdhar Biswal, Establishment Officer‑cum‑Office Superintendent, and Aswini Meher, Steward, both serving at VIMSAR Burla, Sambalpur, for possessing disproportionate assets far exceeding their legal income.
Investigators found that Biswal owned two buildings, including a multi‑storeyed structure of 1,700 sq ft, 32 plots, cash worth ₹19.72 lakhs, gold weighing 83.05 grams, deposits exceeding ₹39 lakhs, two Hyva trucks, two tractors, and one four‑wheeler. He failed to justify the sources of these assets. Odisha Vigilance registered Sambalpur Vigilance PS Case No. 09/2026 under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2018 against him.
Similarly, Meher was found with three buildings, including a multi‑storeyed structure of 8,145 sq ft, one store room, ten plots, and 83 grams of gold. He also could not explain the disproportionate wealth. Odisha Vigilance registered Sambalpur Vigilance PS Case No. 08/2026 under the same Act.
Both officials will be produced before the Court of the Special Judge, Vigilance, Sambalpur. The arrests mark another major success in Odisha Vigilance’s ongoing crackdown on corruption among government employees.
