A senior Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader faced public humiliation in Hooghly district after residents accused him of corruption and paraded him through the streets with a garland made of shoes.
Sapan Samanta, former chairman of Tarakeswar municipality, became the target of public outrage as locals forced him to perform sit-ups while holding his ears.
