Odisha Vigilance launched simultaneous searches at seven locations linked to Sambalpur CADA Executive Engineer Padmalochan Nayak on allegations of possessing disproportionate assets beyond his known sources of income.
On Tuesday, a team led by four DSPs, 13 Inspectors, seven ASIs, and supporting staff carried out the raids. The Special Vigilance Judge, Sambalpur, issued search warrants authorising the operation.
Officials searched Nayak’s rented residential house at Dhanupali, Sambalpur, his triple-storeyed building at Bidyadharpur, Kataka, and his double-storeyed building at Mukhalis under Basta Police Station in Baleshwar district. They also inspected his office chamber at Dhanupali, Sambalpur.

Two locations at the residences of his associates in Kataka town and one property belonging to an associate at Kalimela, Malkangiri district also came under scrutiny.
Searches are continuing, and further updates are awaited. The case underscores Odisha Vigilance’s intensified crackdown on disproportionate assets among government officials.
