Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic ammonia gas leak accident in Tiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu that has claimed several lives and left many workers injured, including migrants from Odisha.
In a heartfelt message, the Chief Minister said he is extremely saddened by the incident. He extended profound condolences to the bereaved families of the workers who lost their lives and wished for the speedy recovery of all the injured Odia labourers.
The Odisha government has remained in constant touch with the Tamil Nadu administration to ensure timely support reaches the affected workers. Acting on the Chief Minister’s directions, Odisha Chief Secretary Smt. Anu Garg held detailed discussions with her Tamil Nadu counterpart to guarantee proper medical treatment and all necessary assistance for the Odia workers.
To strengthen on-ground coordination and provide comprehensive help to the affected Odia workers and their families, the state government has immediately dispatched three senior officers to Tiruvallur.
