Kalinga Sena lodged a formal complaint at the Capital Police Station in Bhubaneswar on Thursday over serious errors and printing flaws in school textbooks for Classes I to VIII.

The organisation urged authorities to take strict action against officials of the School and Mass Education Department responsible for the lapses.

In the complaint filed by Kalinga Sena president Nirmal Biswal, the group alleged that the newly published textbooks contain factual inaccuracies, grammatical mistakes, unclear and incorrect images, incomplete descriptions, and multiple printing defects. Biswal said the errors have affected students’ learning and demanded immediate corrective measures.

The organisation called for the withdrawal of all faulty textbooks, the publication of revised editions, and disciplinary action against those accountable. It also appealed to the government to safeguard the integrity of the education system and ensure that students receive accurate learning materials.

The issue has sparked widespread debate across the state, raising questions about the quality of Odisha’s education administration. Opposition parties and student organisations have joined the demand for urgent government intervention.

Kalinga Sena warned that if the government fails to act promptly, it will intensify its agitation statewide.
