President of India Droupadi Murmu attended the function “Empowerment of Tribal Society by Spiritual Awakening” at Betul, Madhya Pradesh, on June 18, 2026.
The event was organised by Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya.
Addressing the gathering, the President said spiritual purity has become essential in today’s consumption-driven world. She noted that spirituality builds egalitarian conduct and a lifestyle sensitive to natural resources, which is vital for sustainable living.
She emphasised that tribal communities naturally embody spiritual values through their deep connection with nature. Their lifestyle, she said, reflects universal good and offers lessons for modern society. The President appreciated the Brahma Kumaris for collaborating with tribal communities in meaningful initiatives across India.
Highlighting the essence of empowerment, she said true progress goes beyond economic development. It requires self-confidence, self-respect, and social responsibility. Spiritual awakening, she added, helps individuals realise inner strength and connect with higher purposes.
The President underlined that meaningful development must draw nourishment from traditional values while strengthening them. She said harmony and equality can only flow through society when development and values move together.
She urged all citizens to work with greater commitment to build a developed India by 2047, where spirituality, social harmony, environmental conservation, and human welfare form the foundation of inclusive growth.
