In a shocking incident, a minor girl from the Sindhekela police station area in Titlagarh, Balangir district, was allegedly abducted and gang-raped by three men.
The accused reportedly left the victim on a hill after the assault.
According to police sources, the girl was kidnapped in the evening on Monday. Local residents rescued her from the hill around 11 AM the next day and handed her over to her family.
The family later learned the full details of the incident and lodged a complaint at Sindhekela police station.
Balangir Superintendent of Police Abhilash has reached the spot and personally initiated the investigation. The victim has been sent for medical examination at Titlagarh MCH. Police have formed four teams to track down the accused, and a manhunt is underway.
