Choreographer and social media influencer Dhanashree Verma has released a new song, “Dekha Ji Dekha Maine”, addressing themes of infidelity and domestic violence.
The song debuted on the same day her divorce from Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal was finalized by a family court in Mumbai.
The emotionally charged track, backed by T-Series, features Verma in the role of a betrayed spouse. The lyrics, penned by Jaani, convey the pain of trust broken by loved ones. Sung by Jyoti Nooran, the music video is set in Rajasthan and stars Verma alongside actor Ishwak Singh, portraying a royal couple grappling with marital discord.
Verma, in a statement, described the project as one of her most challenging performances. She praised the collaboration with the production team and expressed hope that the song’s message would deeply resonate with audiences.
Verma and Chahal, who married in December 2020, parted ways with Chahal agreeing to pay ₹4.75 crore as alimony. The release of this poignant song on such a significant day has added an emotional layer to the personal and professional narrative of Dhanashree Verma.
