The Odisha government has reassured citizens that there is no oil crisis in the state, urging people to avoid panic buying of fuel. Principal Secretary Sanjay Singh confirmed that petroleum stocks are sufficient and supplies are being maintained across districts.
Officials emphasised that less than one per cent of fuel stations are temporarily dry, a short-term issue being closely monitored. District Collectors have been directed to intervene immediately if shortages are reported, while coordination with oil companies continues to ensure uninterrupted distribution.
The Food Supplies department appealed to citizens not to believe rumours or hoard fuel, warning that such actions could create unnecessary inconvenience for genuine consumers. The clarification comes after reports of long queues and increased buying at petrol pumps over the past two days.
