Delhi Police Special Cell arrested nine operatives linked to the Pakistan ISI-backed Shahzad Bhatti module, uncovering plans to attack a historic temple in Delhi, a dhaba on the Delhi-Sonipat highway, and a military camp in Hisar.
Police recovered weapons during the operation and began interrogating the accused.
Sources revealed that one operative conducted reconnaissance of the temple and sent photographs to handlers in Pakistan. The plan involved opening fire on police and paramilitary forces before targeting the religious site.
Investigators discovered another plot to launch a hand grenade attack on a popular dhaba along the Delhi-Sonipat highway, a location visited daily by thousands. The objective aimed to cause destruction and widespread panic.
The interrogation also exposed plans to strike a military camp in Hisar. An accused allegedly filmed the camp and shared videos with Pakistan-based handlers.
Police sources added that the module intended to target police personnel at select stations in Uttar Pradesh. The revelations highlight the scale of the conspiracy and the range of targets under consideration.
