Khordha district administration revised school timings in view of the prevailing heatwave. Starting April 24, all schools and Anganwadi centres will operate from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. until further notice.
The Collector and District Magistrate issued the order on Thursday, directing government, private, and aided institutions to follow the new schedule. The decision aims to protect students and staff from extreme daytime temperatures.
The official memo from the Emergency Section of the Collector’s office instructed the District Education Officer, Sub-Collector, and other officials to ensure strict compliance. Copies of the order were forwarded to the relevant departments for immediate implementation.
The administration emphasised that the change applies to all educational institutions across Khordha district. Schools have been advised to complete morning sessions before the heat intensifies.
