Odisha Tourism unveiled its new brand tagline, “Think India, Think Odisha,” on Tuesday, marking a major step toward positioning the state as a global tourism and sports destination.
The Department of Tourism announced the new tagline along with the OMC Puri Coastal Marathon (OPCM) launch at Taj Resort & Spa, Puri. The event aligns with Vision Samrudh Odisha 2036 and Vision Vikshit Bharat 2047, reflecting Odisha’s transformation from a hidden gem to a confident, experience-driven destination.
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, MLAs Om Prakash Mishra, Ashrit Pattanayak, and Sunil Kumar Mohanty, and Tourism Secretary Balwant Singh attended the ceremony. The Deputy Chief Minister said Odisha is evolving into a high-performance tourism economy through strategic branding, infrastructure, and immersive experiences.
The launch featured a ceremonial run from Blue Flag Beach to Taj Resort & Spa and a sand art installation by Padma Shri Sudarshan Patnaik, unveiling the official OPCM logo. The design symbolises Odisha’s coastal vibrancy and cultural heritage.
The first edition of the OMC Puri Coastal Marathon will take place on December 13, 2026, offering a prize pool exceeding Rs 1 crore. The event will include Full Marathon (42 km), Half Marathon (21 km), 10 km, and 5 km categories, attracting elite and amateur runners from India and abroad.
The marathon logo draws inspiration from the Jagannath Temple’s Patita Pavana Bana, the Konark Chakra, and the Bay of Bengal’s waves, representing motion, energy, and Odisha’s coastal identity.
