Odisha has taken a major step toward strengthening its power infrastructure with a Rs 600 crore electricity expansion project. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated three grid substations and eight key transmission lines at Balianta in Khurda district.
The initiative aims to deliver reliable, efficient, and uninterrupted power supply to residents across the region.
Boost to Power Infrastructure
The newly launched projects are designed to modernize Odisha’s electricity network and improve service delivery. These upgrades will play a vital role in supporting growing urban and rural energy demands.
In addition, the Chief Minister also inaugurated a high-capacity grid substation at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, ensuring stable power supply for critical healthcare services.
Relief from Low Voltage Problems
Once fully operational, these projects are expected to eliminate low-voltage issues in Bhubaneswar and surrounding areas. Residents and businesses will benefit from improved electricity quality and fewer disruptions.

Speaking at the event, Mohan Charan Majhi said that strengthening power infrastructure is essential for building a developed and inclusive Odisha.
