FASTag Annual Pass fee revision

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced a modest revision in the FASTag Annual Pass fee for the financial year 2026–27. Effective from April 1, 2026, the fee will increase from Rs 3,000 to Rs 3,075 for eligible non-commercial vehicles, such as private cars, vans, and jeeps.

This adjustment, a 2.5% hike of ₹75, aligns with the annual toll revision formula outlined in the National Highways Fee (Determination of Rates and Collection) Rules, 2008, which accounts for factors like wholesale price inflation (WPI).

The FASTag Annual Pass, launched on August 15, 2025, as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations under the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, has seen tremendous adoption. With over 56 lakh users already benefiting, it offers a convenient, cost-effective option for frequent highway travellers by allowing unlimited access to approximately 1,150 toll plazas on national highways and expressways for one year or up to 200 crossings, whichever comes first—no need for repeated recharges.

The pass activates within two hours of payment via the Rajmarg Yatra App or the NHAI website, using the vehicle’s existing valid FASTag.

Despite the slight increase, the scheme continues to provide significant savings and seamless travel for private vehicle owners, eliminating stops at toll booths and reducing overall commuting hassles across India’s expanding national highway network.
