Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Seva Teerth complex on February 13, a new integrated facility that now houses the Prime Minister’s Office, the National Security Council Secretariat, and the Cabinet Secretariat.
The inauguration coincided with the 95th anniversary of New Delhi being formally declared India’s capital on February 13, 1931.
The government described Seva Teerth as a symbol of “India’s administrative governance architecture” and the PM’s vision of building a modern, efficient, accessible, and citizen-centric governance ecosystem. The wall of the complex bears the motto “Nagriko Devo Bhava” (Citizens akin to God).
Alongside Seva Teerth, the Prime Minister also inaugurated Kartavya Bhavan 1 and 2, which will accommodate key ministries. These buildings feature digitally integrated offices, structured public interface zones, centralised reception facilities, and are designed to 4-Star GRIHA standards. They incorporate renewable energy systems, water conservation measures, waste management solutions, and advanced safety frameworks, including smart access controls and emergency response infrastructure.
On his first day at Seva Teerth, PM Modi approved several major decisions. He launched the PM RAHAT Scheme, which provides accident victims with cashless treatment up to Rs 1.5 lakh. He also announced a new target for the Lakhpati Didis initiative, doubling the goal to 6 crore women achievers by March 2029. In agriculture, he approved doubling the outlay of the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund from Rs 1 lakh crore to Rs 2 lakh crore. For innovation, he cleared Startup India FoF 2.0 with a Rs 10,000 crore corpus to support deep tech, advanced manufacturing, and breakthrough technologies.
