In a bid to enhance railway safety and infrastructure, the East Coast Railway has announced significant changes to train services in the Khurda Road Division.

These modifications are necessary for crucial safety-related modernisation works, including Non-Interlocking (NI) activities at Jakhapura station. The works are part of commissioning the third line between Jajpur Keonjhar Road and Jakhapura, aimed at improving efficiency and passenger safety.

The disruptions will affect several MEMU and express trains, with cancellations and short terminations scheduled from early February. Railway officials emphasise that these measures are temporary and essential to ensure seamless execution without compromising safety.

Key Cancellations:

  • The 68424/68423 Cuttack-Bhadrak-Cuttack MEMU will be cancelled from February 2 to 13, 2026.
  • The 68438/68437 Cuttack-Bhadrak-Cuttack MEMU will also remain cancelled during the same period.
  • The 68442 Puri-Jaleswar MEMU will be cancelled from February 1 to 12, 2026.
  • The 68441 Jaleswar-Puri MEMU will be cancelled from February 2 to 13, 2026.
  • The 68426 Khurda Road-Kendujhargarh MEMU will be cancelled from February 1 to 12, 2026.
  • The 68425 Kendujhargarh-Khurda Road MEMU will be cancelled from February 2 to 13, 2026.

Short Terminations and Originations:

  • The 18021 Kharagpur-Khurda Road Express will short-terminate at Jajpur Keonjhar Road from February 2 to 12, 2026.
  • The 18022 Khurda Road-Kharagpur Express will short-originate from Jajpur Keonjhar Road during the same dates.

Passengers are urged to check updates through official railway enquiry systems, such as the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) or station announcements, to avoid inconvenience.
