On International Women’s Day, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi took a sharp jab at the previous BJD government, accusing it of running on mere slogans for 24 years.

Speaking at a massive gathering during the disbursement of the second installment of the Subhadra Yojana in Berhampur, Majhi highlighted his administration’s achievements within just nine months, reaching out to over one crore women.

Majhi lauded the success of the Subhadra Yojana, which has already helped over five lakh women achieve financial independence as “Lakhpati Didis.” Odisha now ranks second nationally in this initiative.

In a lighthearted yet pointed remark, the Chief Minister suggested that opposition leaders need a “digestive pill” to accept the rapid progress under his government. He also criticized the previous Naveen Patnaik-led administration’s 5T governance model, calling it “event management” rather than effective governance.

Majhi outlined his administration’s pro-people schemes, including the Mukhyamantri Kanya Ratna Yojana and the Shree Jagannath Darshan Yojana, designed to meet the real needs of Odisha’s people. He reiterated a zero-tolerance policy towards violence against women, vowing strict action against offenders.

Looking ahead, Majhi set an ambitious target to transform the Subhadra Yojana into a “Subhadra Revolution,” aiming to create 25 lakh “Lakhpati Didis” by 2027, reinforcing his government’s commitment to women’s empowerment and real change.
