The Odisha state government has announced plans to accelerate the registration process for postgraduate courses for the upcoming academic year 2025-26.
In an effort to streamline the admissions process and ensure timely commencement of courses, the Higher Education Department has introduced several key measures.
Starting March 10, 2025, students interested in enrolling in postgraduate courses will be able to fill out the Common Application Form (CAF). Additionally, all applicants will be required to appear for the Common PG Entrance Test (CPET), which will be held in the first week of May.
The selection process for postgraduate courses will be entirely merit-based, with students being chosen based on their CPET scores. This move aims to create a fair and transparent admission system, ensuring that deserving candidates secure their spots in the desired courses.
The Higher Education Department has also set a target to commence postgraduate courses in universities and colleges by July 10, 2025. This early start is intended to ensure that courses are completed on time, and results are declared promptly, benefitting all students in the state.
The government’s decision to expedite the enrollment process reflects its commitment to prioritizing the future of students and addressing the concerns of parents and educators.
