The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha, has begun the Plus Two practical and project examinations across the state from Friday. More than two lakh students from Arts, Science, Commerce, and Vocational streams are appearing in the examinations, which will continue until January 15.
Among the streams, Science has the highest number of candidates, with over one lakh students taking part in practical examinations. This is followed by the Arts stream, which has around 80,000 examinees. Students from Commerce and Vocational streams are also participating in significant numbers.
According to the examination schedule released by CHSE, practical exams will be conducted in 12 subjects under the Science stream, eight subjects in Arts, two subjects in Commerce, and more than 10 subjects in the Vocational stream during the examination period.
Guidelines Issued to Colleges
To ensure smooth, transparent, and fair conduct of the examinations, CHSE has issued detailed guidelines to all affiliated colleges. Authorities have been instructed to make adequate logistical arrangements and strictly follow examination protocols.
The council has directed that any irregularities or issues during the examination process must be reported immediately to the Controller of Examinations.
Same-Day Evaluation and Online Upload
CHSE has further instructed college authorities to evaluate answer sheets on the same day as each practical examination at the respective centres. Marks awarded for practical and internal assessments will be uploaded to the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) portal.
The upload process will take place between January 5 and January 15, enabling timely compilation and declaration of results.
Officials said these measures aim to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and transparency in the assessment process for students across Odisha.
