Odisha Promotes Several IAS and IFS Officers to Higher Grades

In a significant move to strengthen its administrative framework, the Odisha government has promoted 26 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers to various higher grades.


The notification was issued by the General Administration Department, paving the way for these officers to take on more senior responsibilities.

According to the official notification signed by Additional Secretary Debashish Singh, six officers from the 2010 batch have been elevated to the Super Time Scale (Pay Level-14). They include Sudhansu Mohan Samal, Rashmita Panda, Dr Brundha D, Sadiq Alam, Manasi Nimbhal, and Premchandra Choudhury.

Similarly, ten officers from the 2013 batch have been promoted to the Selection Grade (Pay Level-13): Madhusmita Sahu, Shubham Saxena, Monisha Banerjee, Vijay Amrut Kulange, Shubhashree Nand, Vijay Kumar Prusty, Kaliprasanna Mahapatra, Raghuram Ayar, Satyabrata Rout, and Deepak Ranjan Das.

Four officers from the 2017 batch—Somesh Kumar Upadhyay, P. Anwesh Reddy, Ashish Ishwar Patil, and Hemant Kant Say—have been promoted to the Junior Administrative Grade.

Additionally, five officers from the 2022 batch have received the Senior Time Scale promotion: Akcharam Shashya Reddy, Akshay Pillai, Arugula Sneha, Samir Kumar Jena, and Saumyarangan Pradhan.

In a separate notification, the state government has also promoted 14 Indian Forest Service (IFS) officers. From the 2001 batch, Manoj V Nayak and G. Rajesh have been elevated to the rank of Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (APCCF).

Officers from the 2012 batch—Dr. Yajnadatta Pati, N. Sanath Kumar, and Dr. Samrat Gouda have been promoted to the Conservator of Forests grade, while P. Sanjeev Reddy from the same batch received a proforma promotion.

Three officers from the 2013 batch—Rinku Kumari, Kalunge Gorakh Waman, and Sushant Kumar (proforma)—have been advanced to the Selection Grade.

Finally, five officers from the 2017 batch—Lade Gajanan Dayanand, Sai Kiran D.N., Lalit Kumar Patra, Pratap Kottapalli, and Anand S (proforma)—have been promoted to the Junior Administrative Grade.

These promotions are expected to enhance administrative efficiency and enable the officers to handle higher-level responsibilities in governance, forest conservation, and public service delivery across the state.
