Free Coaching Announced for IAS, OAS, OPSC & OSSC Aspirants in Ganjam; Selection Test on January 25

In a significant step to support aspiring civil servants, the Ganjam district administration has announced free coaching for students preparing for IAS, OAS, OPSC, UPSC, OSSC and OSSSC examinations. The initiative was unveiled on Saturday by Ganjam District Collector V. Keerthi Vasan.


Free Civil Services Coaching Programme Details

The programme, named “Ganjam Lakshya Niketan,” aims to identify and nurture talent from across the district while reducing the financial burden associated with costly coaching institutes.

  • Eligible Areas: Berhampur, Chhatrapur and Bhanjanagar subdivisions

  • Total Seats: 50 students

  • Selection Method: Written selection test

  • Test Date: January 25, 2026

Guidance by Serving Officers

Selected candidates will receive structured coaching and mentorship from serving IAS and OAS officers currently posted in Ganjam district. Officers will share their personal preparation strategies, exam insights, and administrative experiences to help students prepare effectively for competitive examinations.

“In the first phase, we will organise an integrated preparatory course for OPSC and UPSC aspirants. The initiative is designed to guide candidates from our district through a well-structured mentorship module,” said Collector V. Keerthi Vasan.

Positive Response from Aspirants

The announcement has been widely welcomed by aspirants, particularly those from economically weaker backgrounds.

“Many students cannot afford expensive coaching. This programme, including its online learning provision, will benefit a large number of candidates,” said Mahesh Sethi, an aspirant.

Another aspirant, Asha Pradhan, added, “This is a very encouraging initiative. It will help deserving students who otherwise miss opportunities due to financial constraints.”

The initiative reflects the district administration’s commitment to inclusive education, equal opportunity, and capacity-building, ensuring that talented students from all backgrounds have access to quality guidance for prestigious civil services careers.
