The Odisha government announced the launch of a mobile app in April designed to simplify the process of obtaining caste, income, and resident certificates.

Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari, in an official statement, highlighted the key goal of the initiative: to reduce the need for residents to visit Tehsil offices. This mobile app allows citizens to apply for essential documents directly from their smartphones, a move expected to cut down on travel and waiting times for residents.

“With this app, people can now apply for caste, income, and residence certificates without the need to visit the Tehsil offices,” said Minister Pujari.

The app will record vital details such as the application date and purpose, ensuring a smooth and efficient process. The Revenue Department has planned comprehensive guidelines to guarantee the timely issuance of certificates.

To maintain service efficiency, Tehsildars will be responsible for uploading data via the app, enabling the state government to monitor and swiftly address any service delivery delays.

“The concerned Tehsildars will upload detailed data regarding the issuance of the certificates through the app. From this, the state government can get information regarding any delay in providing services to the applicants,” Pujari added.

Additionally, the app allows users to download certificates directly, virtually eliminating the need for physical office visits. This reflects the Odisha government’s commitment to providing efficient and accessible services to its citizens.
