The Central Bureau of Investigation arrested Biranchi Narayan Nayak, identified as the mastermind behind the Odisha SI exam scam.
Officials picked him up from Paralakhemundi and brought him into custody.
The arrest marks the first major action by the CBI in the ongoing investigation into the Sub-Inspector recruitment scam. Authorities confirmed that Nayak played a key role in the “Digha model,” which allegedly manipulated exam processes and compromised fairness in recruitment.
Investigators stated that the scam involved irregularities in the selection procedure, raising serious concerns about transparency and merit in police recruitment.
