The Cuttack District Collector ordered the withholding of November 2025 salaries of 91 government officials who defaulted in resolving public grievances registered on the state’s Janasumani Portal.
The directive came after sharp criticism from the Chief Minister’s Grievance Cell (CMGC), which expressed strong displeasure over Cuttack’s consistently poor performance in disposing of grievances during the Monday CM Grievance Cell hearings.
The order affects Sub-Collectors of Athgarh and Banki, Block Development Officers, Tahsildars, and officials from the police, public works, rural development, water resources, and RWSS departments.
The letter issued to the Cuttack District Treasury Officer noted, “Even after repeated persuasion and review meetings, the progress of disposal is not encouraging. The District’s ranking in disposal percentage is worsening across the State. CMGC has expressed utter displeasure over the poor disposal of grievances received in the Monday CM Grievance Cell.”
