Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Ayodhya on Tuesday to ceremonially hoist a saffron flag atop the spire of the Ram Temple, marking the formal completion of the grand temple’s construction. The ceremony is being described as a symbolic “second pran pratishtha,” taking place nearly a year after the consecration of Ram Lalla in the sanctum sanctorum on January 22, 2024.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the triangular saffron flag represents dignity, unity and cultural continuity. The hoisting is seen as the final declaration that the Ram Temple is fully complete, a milestone awaited by millions of devotees across the country.

Security Strengthened Across Ayodhya

Ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit, authorities have implemented an extensive security plan. A total of 6,970 security personnel, including ATS commandos, NSG snipers, cyber specialists and technical teams, have been deployed to maintain safety throughout the event.

Ayodhya welcomed a heavy influx of devotees on Monday, with thousands arriving at the Ram Janmabhoomi complex for darshan before the ceremony. The temple city has been decorated with great detail, including nearly 100 tons of flowers prepared specifically for the celebration.

Following the flag-hoisting ceremony, PM Modi is scheduled to address a large gathering of devotees, officials and dignitaries at the venue.
