In a bid to enhance public awareness about cybersecurity across the state, Odisha Police have deployed 16 specially equipped cyber raths that are traversing various urban and rural areas.
These mobile units, fitted with LED panels displaying engaging video messages, are designed to captivate the general public, particularly students, fostering a growing interest and vigilance towards cyber threats.
To date, numerous awareness programs—including rallies, seminars, workshops, and public meetings—have been conducted in multiple districts, drawing active participation from over a lakh of ordinary citizens. These initiatives aim to build a safer digital environment by empowering people with knowledge on cyber safety.

The campaign was officially inaugurated on October 18, 2025, by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, where the 16 cyber raths were flagged off. All 33 police districts in Odisha are actively involved, organising events in both urban and rural settings. Launch ceremonies have taken place in various districts, with awareness workshops held in schools, colleges, and public spaces.
Emphasising that cybersecurity is a fundamental right and responsibility for every citizen in the digital age, the police are disseminating the message that awareness is the primary defence against cyber crimes. Key activities include distributing pamphlets on cyber awareness at prominent locations and screening videos on LED panels that explain fraud techniques and preventive measures.

The campaign focuses on educating the public about common cyber threats such as fraudulent phone calls, OTP phishing, UPI scams, sextortion, loan app frauds, and social media blackmail. District police units have organised walkathons, cultural programs, and street plays in collaboration with local artists, which have been well-received by audiences, helping them enjoy and learn about cybersecurity simultaneously.
Additional efforts include interactive sessions with students and citizens, quizzes on cyber safety, rallies, and widespread promotion through social media. Through these Cyber Safety Campaigns, the state police anticipate a significant boost in digital security awareness, ultimately leading to a substantial reduction in cybercrime rates across Odisha.
