Odisha Job Aspirants in Dilemma as OPSC and OSSSC Exams Clash

In a significant scheduling conflict, candidates in Odisha are facing a tough situation as two crucial recruitment exams are set to take place at the same time on Sunday.

The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has announced that the ASO (Assistant Section Officer) examination will be held in three shifts – at 9:00 AM, 11:30 AM, and 2:30 PM. Meanwhile, the Odisha Sub-ordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC) has scheduled its RI (Revenue Inspector), ICDS (Integrated Child Development Services), and ARI (Assistant Revenue Inspector) exams, with the first paper running from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM.

The overlap between the OPSC ASO Paper-I and the OSSSC RI exam has left candidates who applied for both positions in a tough spot, as the 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM time slot conflicts directly. This timing clash has created confusion, with many aspirants voicing concerns about how they can attend both exams, as well as the lack of coordination between OPSC and OSSSC.

According to Sunil Mishra, a candidate affected by the clash, “Candidates appearing for the ASO exam will be required to sit through all three shifts, while those attempting the OSSSC RI exam will miss out on the remaining ASO papers, making it impossible for them to attend both.” Mishra also mentioned that the issue was raised with the OPSC earlier, but it was reportedly overlooked.

Despite the growing concern from candidates, there has been no official response or clarification from the authorities of either commission.

This situation has put Odisha job aspirants in a difficult position, and the lack of timely coordination between the two exam authorities has left many questioning the management of the recruitment process.
