The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially released the final date sheet for the 2026 Class 10 and 12 board examinations, marking a significant shift in its academic calendar planning.
The exams are set to commence on February 17, 2026, at 10:30 AM, offering students and schools an unprecedented 110-day preparation window.
This early release—first of its kind by the Board—was made possible due to the timely submission of the List of Candidates (LOC) by affiliated schools. The tentative schedule had already been shared on September 24, 2025, allowing stakeholders to align their academic strategies well in advance.
According to CBSE officials, the final timetable has been meticulously designed to ensure:
- Sufficient gaps between major subjects to reduce student stress.
- Alignment with national entrance exams, enabling Class 12 students to appear for both board and competitive tests without conflict.
- Avoidance of over 40,000 subject combination clashes, ensuring no student faces overlapping exams.
The Board emphasised that the schedule was prepared based on registration data from Class IX and XI, ensuring logistical accuracy and fairness.
