President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the Eighth Session of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) Assembly in New Delhi on October 28, 2025.
She emphasized the power of solar energy to drive inclusion and sustainability.
She told global leaders that solar energy is more than electricity. It empowers communities and promotes social equity. She urged countries to link solar energy with jobs, women’s leadership, rural growth, and digital access.
She reaffirmed India’s commitment to fight climate change. She called for urgent global action. She described ISA as a symbol of shared ambition for dignity and prosperity.
She cited India’s success in lighting remote homes. She said energy equity builds social equity. She encouraged nations to share solar technologies and work together.
She warned that large solar projects must protect nature. She said green energy must not harm the environment. She called for balance between growth and conservation.
She asked countries to think of future generations. She expressed hope that the Assembly would mark a turning point in global solar efforts.
