Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during the 127th episode of Mann Ki Baat, expressed delight over the growing enthusiasm among people for the GST Bachat Utsav and the remarkable surge in the purchase of indigenous products across markets during the festive season.

The Prime Minister noted that this festive period witnessed a pleasant change — citizens are increasingly preferring Made-in-India goods. He commended the collective spirit of the nation in promoting vocal for local initiatives, reflecting both economic and cultural pride.

Speaking about the festive atmosphere, PM Modi said,

“All of us celebrated Diwali a few days ago, and now a large number of people are busy with Chhath Puja. Thekua is being prepared at homes, ghats are being decorated everywhere, and the markets are bustling. Everywhere, we are witnessing a confluence of devotion, affection, and tradition.”

Indian Coffee Wins Global Recognition

Highlighting India’s growing presence in the global coffee market, the Prime Minister shared his admiration for Koraput coffee from Odisha.

“You all know about my association with tea, but today I thought, why not discuss coffee?” he said.

PM Modi praised the increasing popularity of Indian coffee worldwide, adding that:

“Indian coffee is becoming very popular all over the world. That’s why coffee lovers say — India’s coffee is coffee at its finest. It is brewed in India and loved by the world.”

This recognition, he said, is a testament to the dedication of India’s coffee growers and entrepreneurs who are taking indigenous brands to international markets.

Promoting Indian Dog Breeds Through Innovation

The Prime Minister also spoke about his earlier appeal to citizens and security forces to adopt Indian dog breeds, which are better suited to local climatic and working conditions.

He appreciated the efforts of security agencies in implementing this initiative, particularly at the BSF’s National Training Centre for Dogs in Tekanpur, Gwalior. The centre has been focusing on the Rampur Hound from Uttar Pradesh and the Mudhol Hound from Karnataka and Maharashtra.

“At this Centre, trainers are using technology and innovation to train dogs more effectively,” PM Modi said, commending the progress made in this area.

Celebrating Faith, Culture, and National Pride

PM Modi concluded by emphasizing the spirit of togetherness, devotion, and tradition that defines India’s festivals. He encouraged citizens to continue supporting local artisans, farmers, and entrepreneurs — reinforcing the message of self-reliant India (Atmanirbhar Bharat).

As India celebrates Chhath Puja, the Prime Minister’s message echoed a sense of national pride — blending culture, economy, and innovation.
