The Cuttack District Magistrate has officially declared the Bali Yatra grounds a “No Drone Zone” from November 1 to November 15, 2025.

To begin with, this directive aims to safeguard the estimated 5 million visitors expected during the historic Bali Yatra festival, scheduled from November 5 to 12.

Accordingly, the order prohibits the flying of drones, UAVs, para gliders, para motors, power hang gliders, micro light aircraft, and hot air balloons within a 5-kilometer radius of the Lower and Upper Bali Yatra grounds. As part of a broader security plan, the restriction seeks to prevent aerial mishaps and ensure crowd safety.

Moreover, Collector Dr. Dattatraya Bhausaheb Shinde issued the directive, emphasizing that any violation will result in the seizure of the prohibited items. Spanning 60 acres along the Mahanadi River, the festival will host cultural events, commercial stalls, and public gatherings across both grounds.

In light of growing concerns over unauthorized drone activity at large public events, the aerial ban reflects the administration’s proactive approach. Given the massive footfall expected, officials are prioritizing crowd control and airspace security.

Ultimately, the “No Drone Zone” designation reinforces the district’s commitment to public safety and smooth festival operations. Therefore, visitors and vendors are advised to comply with the guidelines to avoid legal consequences.
