Odisha Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment, Energy, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, today convened the first preparatory meeting for Krushi Odisha 2025-26.
The meeting, held in Bhubaneswar, laid the groundwork for what promises to be a vibrant three-day extravaganza scheduled from January 22 to 24, 2026.
This annual flagship event, dedicated to advancing Odisha’s agricultural landscape, will bring together a diverse array of stakeholders, including intellectuals, successful farmers, scientists, agricultural producers, and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) from across the nation and the state.
Key decisions from the meeting include fixing the conference dates annually in January, ensuring consistency and anticipation among participants. Organisers anticipate over 10,000 farmers attending, with more than 250 stalls showcasing innovations from agricultural entrepreneurs, self-help groups, and Mission Shakti members. A highlight will be a dedicated exhibition on farm mechanisation and cutting-edge agricultural equipment, aimed at bridging the gap between traditional farming and modern technology.
Discussions also focused on logistical support, particularly accommodation and travel arrangements for farmers journeying from remote areas, underscoring the event’s commitment to inclusivity.
Senior officials, including Principal Secretary Dr Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Director of Agriculture Shubham Saxena, and Director of Soil Conservation & Watershed Management Subrat Kumar Panda, presented detailed updates on preparations and offered strategic suggestions to ensure a seamless and impactful conference.
Krushi Odisha has evolved into a cornerstone platform for knowledge exchange, policy dialogue, and business opportunities in the agri-sector. With Odisha’s agriculture sector playing a pivotal role in the state’s economy, this edition is poised to drive sustainable growth, empower rural communities, and spotlight indigenous farming practices alongside global trends.
As preparations gain momentum, stakeholders are optimistic about Krushi Odisha 2025-26 emerging as a catalyst for transformative change in Indian agriculture.
