Caruana Wins Grand Chess Tour 2025, Praggnanandhaa Takes Fourth

Fabiano Caruana won the Grand Chess Tour Finals 2025 after defeating Maxime Vachier-Lagrave in a thrilling final match.


Praggnanandhaa finished fourth after losing to Levon Aronian in the third-place match. Aronian secured the win with three consecutive victories. He received $60,000 for his performance. Caruana earned $150,000 for his victory.

Praggnanandhaa earned $40,000 and gained valuable experience against elite players. His qualification to the finals highlighted his rapid rise in global chess.

Vachier-Lagrave started strong but failed to maintain momentum. Caruana bounced back with three straight wins to seal the title. Vachier-Lagrave took home $100,000.

The Grand Chess Tour featured four top players: Caruana, Aronian, Vachier-Lagrave, and Praggnanandhaa. All finalists secured spots in the 2026 edition.

The Saint Louis Chess Club hosted the event and will organize three major tournaments in October. These include Clutch Chess: Kasparov vs. Anand, the U.S. Championships, and Clutch Chess featuring Carlsen, Nakamura, Caruana, and Gukesh.

Praggnanandhaa faced tough competition but showed resilience throughout the tournament. His performance earned praise from fans and experts.

Caruana displayed strategic brilliance and composure under pressure. His comeback in the final match impressed the chess world.

Aronian used experience and precision to dominate the third-place match. He outplayed Praggnanandhaa in key moments.

The Grand Chess Tour Finals 2025 concluded with intense battles and memorable games. Fans celebrated the return of high-level chess action.
